Is it obligatory to return a wedding gift if the giver demands it back after a dispute?

It is not permissible for the giver to retract a gift after the recipient has taken possession of it with the giver's permission, due to the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "The one who retracts his gift is like one who eats his vomit." Therefore, the questioner is not obligated to anything for the person who gave him a gift and then retracted it after the gift was taken possession of.
