Is it authentically reported from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that he used to recite from Surat Al-Jumu'ah during the Maghrib or 'Isha prayers on Thursday, or the verse "Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet" during Maghrib and Surat Al-Jumu'ah during 'Isha?

There is no authentic hadith confirming the desirability of reciting Surat Al-Jumu'ah during the Maghrib and Isha prayers on the night of Jumu'ah; rather, it is a very weak hadith. It has not been authentically reported from the Salaf (pious predecessors) that they consistently did so, and Imam Ahmad disliked persisting in this practice. As for reciting the ends or middle sections of surahs in prayers, it has not been preserved that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, consistently did so, and it is contrary to the Sunnah to persist in it. However, it is permissible to recite them occasionally without believing in a specific virtue or consistently doing so.
