Is it permissible for us to shorten and combine prayers when we are constantly traveling as workers, and while we are waiting for the ship, and on our weekly day off, and can we shorten prayers on our way to the ship?

A traveler whose journeys are frequent, such as train drivers and pilots, is permitted to avail themselves of the concessions of travel while on their journey. However, they must complete the prayer (perform it in full) if they reach their place of residence or intend to reside in a country for four days or more. As for someone whose home and interests are on a ship and who remains a traveler, he does not shorten the prayer nor break the fast. Shortening the prayer in the port depends on the worker's place of residence and the port's location relative to the city limits. Thus, whoever resides in a country other than the one where the port is located, or if the port is outside the urban boundaries of his city, is permitted to avail himself of the concessions. However, whoever resides in the same country and the port is within the urban area of the city, is not permitted to avail himself of the concessions upon reaching the port. The concessions begin when one leaves the urban area of the city.
