Regarding Surat Al-Mumtahanah: Both kasr (vowel break) and fath (vowel opening) have been narrated for it. With the kasr on the letter Haa’ (الممتحِنة), it is a feminine active participle, to which the action is metaphorically attributed. With the fath on the letter Haa’ (الممتحَنة), it is a feminine passive participle, referring to the woman concerning whom it was revealed. As for "Al-Munfiq" (المنفِق): It is with a kasr and shaddah (doubling) on the letter Faa’, and it means one who promotes his merchandise.
