Is the hijab obligatory for a woman when reciting the Qur’an in her home?
It is permissible for a woman to read the Quran without covering her head, as there is no command in the Quran or Sunnah obliging her to do so. However, if she does so out of reverence, she is hoped to be rewarded, as Allah Almighty says: (That [is so]. And whoever honors the symbols of Allah - indeed, it is from the piety of hearts). It was narrated that Malik ibn Anas would beautify himself, perfume himself, and sit with dignity when narrating a Hadith of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
