Is it permissible for a woman to seek divorce from her husband with whom consummation has not yet occurred, in order to be with her former fiancé, in whom she sees support and aid, and is the former fiancé's action considered incitement to discord (takhbib)?

It is not permissible for a wife to seek a divorce unless there is a legitimate reason for it. Her mere assumption that another man is better than her husband is not a sufficient reason, for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Any woman who asks her husband for divorce without any real cause, the scent of Paradise will be forbidden to her."

A woman may perceive good in a matter when it is actually evil for her, and vice versa.

Moreover, one who corrupts a woman against her husband is not among the Muslims, for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "He is not of us who incites a woman against her husband." Whoever does so demonstrates bad character and is unfit to be a husband.
