How do we respond to those who say that marriage is "two, three, and four, and what your right hand possesses," intending by "what your right hand possesses" fornication, and that "what your right hand possesses" remains a marriage without rights?

"Intercourse with a slave woman" refers to a man having sexual relations with his female slave whom he rightfully owns. He is permitted to have intercourse with her by virtue of that ownership. This act is legitimate and lawful, and not considered zina (fornication/adultery). Anyone who claims otherwise is ignorant of the rulings of Islamic law. The general public should not debate those who raise such doubts; instead, the matter should be referred to specialized scholars.
