Is it permissible for someone who missed Qiyam al-Layl to pray it after sunrise, and what would its form be?
It is recommended to make up for the missed night vigil (Qiyam al-Layl), and this should be done approximately a quarter of an hour after sunrise, while being keen to perform it in the usual manner. If one used to pray eight rak'ahs, then he should pray them, based on the statement of Ibn Taymiyyah: "The imams have recommended that a man should have a certain number of rak'ahs that he performs at night and does not abandon. If he is energetic, he should lengthen them, and if he is lazy, he should shorten them. And if he sleeps through them, he should pray them during the day instead."
