Is it permissible for an actor and actress to sleep in one bed, or to kiss or embrace, by virtue of being a couple in an artistic work? What is the ruling on this if they are not actually a couple? Do any rights and obligations arise from this artistic marriage? And is an actress considered to be married to two men if she is already married and then marries an actor in an artistic work?

The actor sleeping with an actress who is a stranger to him in one bed, or kissing her, is forbidden; in fact, it is a great crime. This ruling is not changed by the claim of marriage within the acting context, as this is a frivolous act that achieves nothing.

Such actions are reprehensible acts whose prohibition is known by anyone raised in Muslim lands, and are denounced by anyone who has remnants of innate disposition (fitra) in their heart. The problem for most of those who engage in this is not ignorance of its prohibition; rather, they need encouragement and deterrence, and reminders of the Hereafter, the fear of Allah, and shame before Him.

If the questioner is ignorant of its prohibition, then this is a great calamity and a dereliction in learning the limits of what Allah has revealed to His Messenger. These are reprehensible acts whose prohibition is known by everyone, far and near, who interacts with Muslims. It is incumbent upon a Muslim to learn their prohibition.
