Who is Mujahid, mentioned in the books of Tafsir, and what is his brief biography?

Mujahid is the eminent Tābiʿī, Abu al-Hajjaj. He was born in the year 21 AH, during the caliphate of Umar. He was among the most reliable of Ibn Abbas’s students in Tafsir (Qur’anic exegesis), and he presented the Mushaf to Ibn Abbas three times, asking him about every single verse. Ayyub al-Sakhtiyani, Ata, Ikrimah, and others narrated from him, and he was the most knowledgeable among them in Tafsir. Mujahid died in Mecca while prostrating, and it is said that he lived for 83 years.
