What is Salat al-Istikhara, what are its conditions and timing, and what are the recommended supplications within it?

The Istikhara prayer consists of two Rak'ahs other than the obligatory prayers. In them, one recites the Istikhara supplication mentioned in the Hadith. Then, the Muslim proceeds with their matter. If it is good, Allah will make it easy for them, and if it is evil, He will divert it from them.
