The majority of scholars prohibit drawing complete images of animate beings, with the exception of dolls for girls and similar items. The intention to imitate God's creation is not a condition for the prohibition of image-making. It is obligatory to avoid altering the creation of complete images of animate beings (whether drawn or photographed), because altering images is an adjunct to the prohibited image-making. However, altering clothes or lighting and similar things is not an adjunct to the prohibited image-making.
