Whoever repents sincerely, Allah forgives all his sins and transforms his evil deeds into good deeds. The expiation of sins occurs through ten means: repentance, seeking forgiveness, effacing good deeds, the supplication of believers, righteous deeds performed for the deceased, the intercession of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), calamities, trials in the grave, the terrors of the Day of Judgment, and Allah's mercy and pardon. The penitent must distance himself from bad company and associate with good company, and a Muslim should live between fear and hope.
