Why does Allah allow tribulations to befall humans? Is it a test of their trust and reliance, or is it that His command is known only to Him? And what should a Muslim do when tribulation strikes, and how are the two rak'ahs that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to pray during momentous events performed?

Allah is not questioned concerning what He does, and His rulings are based on wisdom. Afflictions occur to expiate sins, or to elevate ranks, or to test the believers, or as a punishment for sins. The believer must be patient in calamities to attain the reward of the patient and the grateful. When the wind blows, it is legislated to supplicate, pray, and prostrate.
