What is the ruling on one who changed his mind and performed Hajj as a mufrid (singly, without 'umrah) after the miqat?

The ruling differs according to the pilgrim's intention. If someone intended to perform Hajj Tamattu' before the miqat (definition), then changed his intention and entered ihram (definition) for Hajj Ifrad (definition) after the miqat, there is no harm upon him and no fidyah (definition) is required. As for someone who entered ihram for both 'Umrah (definition) and Hajj together (as a Qarin) from the miqat or before it, and then wished to make it Hajj Ifrad, he is not permitted to do so. However, he may dissolve the qiran (definition) into 'Umrah; he would then perform tawaf (definition) and sa'i, shorten his hair, and exit ihram, then he would pronounce the talbiyah (definition) for Hajj, thus becoming a Mutamatti'.
