Why is it preferred to bury the deceased in the country where they passed away, and what is the harm in transporting the body to another country, in addition to honoring the deceased by expediting their burial?

Transporting the deceased to be buried in another country is permissible if there is a valid reason. Otherwise, it is preferable to bury them where they passed away, as transporting goes against the principle of expediting the burial, and there is a fear of the body decomposing. A will to transport the deceased is only enforceable if there is a valid reason. The Shafi'is have explicitly stated that it is enforceable if the transport is to Mecca, Medina, or Jerusalem, provided there is security from decomposition.
