Does a man's saying to his wife, "You are to me as the back of my mother" constitute ẓihār?

A man's saying to his wife, "You are to me as the back of my mother" merely as a narration does not constitute ẓihār, because he did not intend to effect ẓihār upon her. Rather, he intended to convey and narrate the reason for its revelation. The condition for ẓihār to occur is that the one performing ẓihār must intend its meaning when uttering its words, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Deeds are only by intentions, and every person will have what they intended." The narrator did not intend ẓihār, so it does not occur.
