Is it permissible for a woman to waive her rights and her son in exchange for getting rid of a husband who abuses her and prevents her from seeing her family?
It is not permissible for a husband to prevent his wife from visiting her family without a reason. She has the right to visit her parents every Friday without her husband's permission, and to visit her mahrams once a year with or without her husband's permission. Similarly, he is not allowed to prevent her family from visiting her.
If the husband insists on preventing her from visiting her parents and preventing them from visiting her, this is considered injustice and aggression. In such a case, the wife has the right to seek divorce due to the severe harm inflicted upon her, even if these actions have not been repeated.
If the husband strikes his wife, or curses her or her family, or tells her, "You will live as a servant to me and my family," this is aggression, transgression, and injustice. She has the right to seek divorce if she cannot bear it. If his intention behind this is to harm her so that she relinquishes her rights, then this is forbidden ().
