What is the punishment for committing adultery, and does Allah accept good deeds such as prayer and fasting from an adulterer who persists in their adultery? And is it obligatory to avoid such individuals or to continue advising them?

If a man commits adultery, which is one of the major sins, and openly publicizes his disobedience, in addition to being married, then he should not be befriended.

As for his prayers and fasting, they absolve him of his duty, and their acceptance and reward are with Allah. However, true worship is that which purifies the soul and produces purity and chastity. He should be advised and reminded of the punishment for adultery in this world and the Hereafter. If advice does not benefit him, then abandoning him is recommended.
