What is the Sharia ruling on dealing with a father who stole his son's money and house and gave them to his other son who spends the money on forbidden things?
For a father to be permitted to take from his son's wealth, it is stipulated that he must be in need, that it does not harm the son, and that he does not give it to the son's siblings. If the father is wealthy and takes from his son's money to give it to his siblings who use it to commit evil deeds, then there is no blame upon the son for refusing to give it, and this is not considered an ascription of disobedience.
If a father seizes a house from his son and gives it to one of his siblings, he has acted wrongly, based on the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "The wealth of a person is not lawful except with his willing consent."
The son is advised to be patient with his father, to counsel him, and to show him kindness despite his ill-treatment. It is not permissible for him to insult him, raise his voice at him, or cut ties with him. He may seek assistance from people of virtue to speak with his father.
As for the siblings, it is permissible to repel their aggression in kind without injustice, but patience is better. It is permissible to abandon them for a legitimate শরীয়াহ (Shar'i) interest.
