Is it permissible for a couple to conceal their travel for Umrah from the husband's family to avoid their comments about expenses and visit costs upon their return?

Traveling with the husband secretly from his family depends on the existence of the parents. If both or one of them are alive, their permission must be sought for a recommended Umrah, not an obligatory one. As for other family members besides the parents, it is permissible to travel without their knowledge, provided that sufficient maintenance is left for those whose support is obligatory upon him.
