What is the ruling on going to a person who claims to break spells with the Quran, but performs strange actions such as claiming to know people's images in dreams and controlling hand movements?
It is recommended to turn to Allah with supplication, for He answers the distressed and removes harm. He loves to be supplicated and responds when invoked. Allah Almighty says: "Is not He Who responds to the distressed one, when he calls on Him, and Who removes the evil" [An-Naml: 62]. If the man's condition is as described, then his situation is similar to that of sorcerers and soothsayers. Such individuals should not be approached, questioned, or believed in what they say. Legitimate is the best means of treatment for magic and similar ailments. It is best for a person to perform Ruqyah upon themselves, and it is permissible for another to perform it upon them, provided that individuals of uprightness are chosen and those who are astray are avoided. Assistance can be sought from some people of knowledge and virtue, while also supplicating for them.
