What is the Sharīʿah ruling on the continuation of marriage with a Shiite husband who permits temporary marriage (mutʿah) and anal intercourse with his wife, and who conceals his marriage or travel, knowing that he considers his wife an enemy?

If the husband holds beliefs of disbelief (such as invoking imams and believing in their infallibility, or the distortion of the Quran, or declaring Abu Bakr and Umar to be disbelievers, or slandering Aisha), then it is not permissible to remain with him, and the marriage must be annulled. Mut'ah marriage is invalid, and if the husband insists on it, the wife may seek divorce (ṭalāq) or annulment (khulʿ) due to his iniquity. Anal intercourse is forbidden and a grave sin, and the wife is not permitted to allow her husband to do so. It is permissible for the husband to travel without his wife, but he should not be absent for more than six months except with her permission, and the wife should not abandon her husband's bed unless by mutual agreement, or if she abandons him for the sake of Allah due to his iniquity – though we do not advise the latter unless it serves as a deterrent to him. One must ascertain the husband's beliefs that constitute disbelief in order to seek the annulment of the marriage, as well as if he insists on anal intercourse. However, if he shares in the sect's innovations that do not constitute disbelief and persists in mut'ah marriage, then the advice is to separate from him.
