How did the wives of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, remove excess hair?

There is no authentic text regarding how the Mothers of the Believers removed excess hair. Although the use of Nura (a depilatory substance) was known in ancient times and there are weak narrations concerning it, the matter of removing hair, whether with Nura or otherwise, is broad.
