What is the ruling on publishing beneficial Islamic video clips that are copyrighted by a specific website?

It is not permissible to download copyrighted clips except with the permission of their owners, because intellectual property rights have a protected financial value. However, if they are not copyrighted or their owners have permitted their dissemination for non-commercial purposes, then there is no harm in downloading them for academic and da'wah (preaching) benefit.
