Can a heart that has died from an abundance of sins live again, and how can it be revived?

The door of repentance is always open, and one who repents from a sin is like one who has committed no sin. The mercy of Allah is vast and encompasses all things, and no matter how great your sins, Allah's forgiveness is greater. Sincere your repentance and start a new page by obeying Allah, for the heart sickened by sins is cured by abandoning them and adhering to righteousness. Allah softens hearts after their hardness and guides after misguidance, so turn to Him with sincerity so He may grant you success and aid you. Accompany good people, attend gatherings of remembrance (dhikr) and knowledge, visit graves to soften the heart, observe the obligatory prayers and increase in supererogatory acts, occupy your time with what is beneficial, and strive against yourself to attain what is sought.
