What happened to Ali (may Allah honor his countenance) concerning the trustworthiness?

It is probable that the questioner is referring to a hadith narrated by Al-Bazzar from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), which states that the easiest thing in religion is bearing witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, and the hardest is trustworthiness (amanah). For, "There is no religion for one who has no trustworthiness, and no prayer for him, and no zakat for him." The hadith also indicates that whoever acquires ill-gotten wealth and wears a garment from it, his prayer will not be accepted until he removes that garment, because Allah is too noble to accept the deed of a man who is wearing a garment acquired unlawfully.
