What is the ruling on disposing of books left behind after the death of the father, knowing that some of the heirs are illiterate, and some of these books are not from the books of Ahlus-Sunnah, and with the death of two of the heirs after the father?

The books left by the deceased are considered a right for all heirs, and they are to be divided among them if possible and if they agree to it. Otherwise, they are to be sold, and their price divided according to Islamic law. As for books that contradict the Sunnah (books of innovators), it is permissible to destroy or burn them, provided that one ensures they are indeed of that nature. Many people exaggerate in deeming others innovators and pass judgment on books and authors without just cause.
