It is not permissible to obey the father in his command to deal with usury, because there is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator, and obedience is only in what is good. One must try to convince the father gently and kindly that this matter is not permissible Islamically. It is also not permissible to deposit money in usurious banks, even without interest, unless it is impossible to find an Islamic bank.
