What are the rulings regarding the worshipper's correction of the Imam in the event that he forgets or distorts a verse during recitation in prayer?

The congregant must correct an error that changes the meaning if able, and it is recommended to correct an error that does not corrupt the meaning. It is permissible for the congregant to prompt the Imam if he pauses during recitation after confirming his pause. The prayer is not invalidated by the congregant correcting the Imam if the error does not corrupt the meaning and is not in Al-Fatihah.
