Is it permissible to use Facebook and restrict friendships to girls, knowing that their pictures may appear on the account without the account owner publishing their own private pictures?

If your social media presence is permissible, and pictures of some of your friends appear on your account unintentionally, then there are two scenarios:

1. Scenario One: If the pictures are not alluring and the accounts are private, then there is no fear of corruption arising from them. 2. Scenario Two: If the pictures are alluring and the account is public for everyone, or men among your relatives can access them, then this is spreading evil and aiding in it. You must advise the owner of the picture to change it, and if she does not respond, remove her from your friends list, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: (And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.) Al-Ma'idah (2).
