Does religion permit the study of paranormal phenomena such as "telekinesis," which is prevalent in forums, and are we obliged to believe in them?
The study of paranormal phenomena and similar fields, which are based on abstract theories and claims lacking evidence to prove their validity, are nothing more than speculation and conjecture. Therefore, they are not considered praiseworthy knowledge, and Allah has forbidden us from following conjecture. Dr. Wahbah Al-Zuhaili mentioned that these methods are illusory, and it is forbidden to rely on them or practice them, for the source of unseen knowledge is Allah alone. Whoever relies on these sorceries has disbelieved in Allah and revelation. As for believing in miracles, it is permissible rationally and legally if their occurrence is proven.
