Surat Al-Sharh was revealed when the polytheists taunted the Muslims about their poverty. It is a Meccan that speaks about the Prophet’s — peace and blessings be upon him — lofty status and high rank with his Lord, enumerating Allah’s blessings upon him to console him for the harm he received from the polytheists. The Prophet — peace and blessings be upon him — said when it was revealed: "One hardship will not overcome two ease."
