The one in dire necessity must eat from forbidden and repulsive things to stave off death, except for what is harmful like poison. If he refrains and dies of hunger, he would be a killer of himself and would enter the Fire. The jurists have stipulated the obligation for the one in dire necessity to eat excrement and blood.
