What should a woman do who has a debt to her son's school from 14 years ago, and she does not know if the school owners are still around or not? And if they are found, should she pay the same amount or its current value?

A woman is obligated to repay the debt to its known owners who can be reached. If she is unable to do so, she should give the equivalent amount of the debt in charity to the poor and needy, or spend it on matters benefiting Muslims. What is required is the original amount of the debt, regardless of any change in its value.
