Is there a hadith stating that angels return the greeting to someone who gave a salam but did not have it returned to him?
The Hadith referred to was narrated by Ahmad, Abu Ya'la, Ibn Hibban, and others, from Hisham ibn Ammar, that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "It is not permissible for a Muslim to abandon a fellow Muslim for more than three nights. For indeed, both of them are deviating from the truth as long as they persist in their estrangement. The first of them to reconcile, his precedence in reconciliation will be an expiation for him. And if one greets and his greeting is not accepted, and his Salaam is returned to him, the angels return the Salaam to him, and the devil returns it to the other. And if they die while in estrangement, they will never both enter Paradise." This Hadith was authenticated by Al-Albani and Al-Arna'ut.
