ما هو معنى اسمي الله (الباطن) و (الظاهر)؟

The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, explained the two names "Al-Zahir" (The Manifest) and "Al-Batin" (The Hidden) in the Hadith (definition) of Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, by saying: "You are Al-Zahir, so there is nothing above You, and You are Al-Batin, so there is nothing below You." "Al-Zahir" indicates His exaltedness above all things, and that there is nothing higher than Him. It also indicates His manifestation to minds through the proofs of His existence and oneness. As for "Al-Batin," it indicates that nothing is closer than Him. It also signifies His knowledge of the inner aspects and hidden details of matters, His encompassing of all things, and that He is not perceived by the senses, being veiled from the sight of creation. His name "Al-Batin" does not imply lowliness, for He is The Most High, The Exalted. Thus, His manifestation implies His exaltedness and transcendence, and His hiddenness indicates His awareness of secrets and the subtle details of things.
