Will bodies be resurrected on the Day of Judgment in a form different from their state in this world, or in the form in which their owner died? And will the soul inhabit another body?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

On the Day of Resurrection, every soul will return to the body it inhabited in this world, not to another body, as indicated by religious texts. For example, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Until, when it is the Day of Resurrection, every soul will enter its body."

As for the form of the bodies, they will be resurrected in the same form in which they were born, but some differences may occur, such as sight and blindness, and size—tallness and shortness. The arrogant will be resurrected like ants, and the disbelievers will have enormous bodies so that their torment may increase, while the people of Paradise will be in the form of Adam (peace be upon him).
