The fundamental principle for a woman is to remain in her home, as Allah the Almighty says: "And abide in your houses." If a woman is compelled to work, she should choose what suits her nature and avoid places of mixing [between genders]. If she needs to work in mixed environments due to a genuine necessity, not a whim, then she must adhere to Islamic manners: full hijab, refraining from perfumes or adornment, avoiding sitting or being in seclusion with men, lowering her gaze, not speaking to them except out of necessity and clearly without submissiveness, ensuring the work is permissible, and continuously searching for an alternative job away from temptation. The decision to leave mixed-gender work is sound, and she can search for work specific to women, such as teaching, for Allah blesses the little for the righteous.
