Is it Islamically permissible to question witnesses again in court, especially if their initial testimonies were inconsistent?

The testimony of women alone is accepted in matters not privy to men. The testimony of two women and one man is accepted in financial matters and those with a financial implication. As for matters not financial, they are not established except by the testimony of two men, according to the majority of scholars. However, the Hanafis permit the testimony of one man and two women in financial and other matters. The testimony of each man is heard individually, while the testimony of women is heard with every two together, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: ﴿lest one of them should err, and the other should remind her﴾, and this takes place in the presence of the disputing parties.
