Is it permissible to disinherit a mother, just as the mother disinherited her daughter?

Depriving a mother of inheritance is an act of disobedience (ʿuqūq), and one should not reciprocate a mother's mistreatment with similar conduct. Disobedience to parents is among the greatest major sins. If a mother writes a will in favor of an heir, it is not executed unless the other heirs agree. However, if it is a gift (hiba), then justice is obligatory among the children, and the mother must rectify the gift as long as she is alive. If the mother dies before rectifying the gift, most scholars have gone with the view that the gift to the daughter is established. However, there is an opinion held by some scholars, and a narration from Imam Ahmad, that allows the remaining heirs to retract the gift. A gift is not completed unless the donee takes possession of it during the lifetime of the donor, in a manner that enables them to dispose of it.
