"You are divorced and divorced and divorced" (with conjunction): This effects three divorces, even without intention, according to the majority of jurists. 4. "You are divorced" then repeated after a long customary period: This effects three divorces and does not convey the intention of emphasis according to the Shafi'is and Hanbalis, while the Malikis accept his claim if he alleges emphasis.

The preponderant view is that the divorce effects three divorces due to its foundational nature, unless there is a verbal or contextual indication of emphasis.
