What is your opinion of the book "Qūt al-Qulūb"?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The book "Qut al-Qulub" and the book "Ihya' Ulum al-Din" are similar in what they mention concerning the works of the hearts, such as patience and gratitude. Abu Talib al-Makki (author of Qut al-Qulub) has more knowledge of hadith, athar (reports from the Salaf), and the sciences of the hearts than Abu Hamid al-Ghazali (author of Ihya' Ulum al-Din). His discourse is more accurate and further removed from innovation. However, the book "Qut al-Qulub" contains weak and fabricated hadiths, and many rejected matters.
