Is it obligatory to move to another mixed public school where there are Muslims, or to be patient in the current mixed environment where Muslims are almost nonexistent, and what is the duty towards non-Muslim friends after committing to the hijab?

The mixing of men and women in education or work involves risks and corrupting influences, and the danger may increase in schools devoid of Muslims. Therefore, it is not permissible to continue in such schools. The best course of action is to seek a permissible means of education where there is no mixing. If that is not possible, then transferring to a school with Muslims is the lesser of two evils.

One must avoid mingling with men and speaking to them, and female friends should only be Muslim women. It is not permissible to befriend males. As for non-Muslim female friends, one should consider the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "A person is on the religion of his intimate friend; so let one of you look at whom he befriends."

Islam did not command isolation from people, but rather avoidance of evil and places of temptation, and everything that leads to disobedience. One must adhere to the Sharia rulings and present Islam in its true form as a religion of chastity, modesty, and noble morals, which does not permit yielding to desires and temptations, and forbids immorality and reprehensible acts, including the mixing of men and women.
