The wife is advised to treat her husband kindly, not seek divorce, be patient, seek help from Allah, and take steps to treat her illnesses. It is permissible for her to undergo tubal ligation if pregnancy would cause definite harm to her or her children, and if no temporary means of birth control are available. Sheikh Ibn Baz issued a permitting this if doctors confirm the harm and the husband gives his consent.
