Is it permissible for a well-off woman to give her gold's zakat to her grandchildren (her sons' children or her daughters' daughters), and to spend on her grandson's university education, knowing that her husband is well-off and not deceased?

It is not permissible for a woman to give her zakat (definition) to her grandchildren according to the majority of jurists, whereas it is permissible to give zakat to a student of Islamic knowledge according to the jurists. Some scholars have expanded on this, allowing it to be given to a student of worldly knowledge if their knowledge is permissible and beneficial for the interest of religion or the world.
