What is the ruling on the reflection of the name of Allah, suspended around the neck, in the toilet while relieving oneself; and the reflection of the Qur’an in swimming pool water mixed with the image of a semi-naked wife; and the appearance of bodies on plaques bearing Qur’anic verses hung in the bedroom during marital relations? And is that considered apostasy necessitating the renewal of the marriage contract?

Apostasy does not occur by entering the bathroom with a ring bearing the remembrance of Allah, and renewal of marriage is not required. Apostasy is the embracing of disbelief with an open heart. Whoever enters faith with certainty does not leave it except with certainty. Entering the bathroom with something that contains the remembrance of Allah is disliked, based on the hadith that the Prophet removed his ring when entering the latrine, and the engraving on his ring was: "Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." The remedy for this is to conceal the name of Allah by turning the ring so that it faces the palm of the hand. It is also advised to avoid anger.
