What is to be done if a man does not love his wife and feels harm from the continuation of their marriage, along with his desire to marry another woman who demands that he divorce his wife as a condition for marriage?

It is advisable to hold onto the chosen wife, improve companionship with her, and not divorce her. Do not rush into emotional decisions, and look at the good aspects of her character and qualities. Allah Almighty said: "And live with them honorably. If you dislike them, it may be that you dislike a thing and Allah brings through it much good." And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No believing man should hate a believing woman. If he dislikes one of her characteristics, he will be pleased with another." It is also necessary to search for the reason for the aversion and to be frank with the wife, knowing that Islam has laid down foundations for choosing a wife, such as religiosity, good character, and chastity, and that love may develop with patience and good companionship. It is obligatory to sever any relationship with any other foreign woman, especially since the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade a man from proposing to a woman already engaged to his brother.
