Is the supplication for expiating sins committed in an assembly prescribed when there has been no actual sitting, such as when friends meet on the street and then part ways without having sat down?

It is prescribed for both of you to recite the supplication for the expiation of the majlis (gathering) after the meeting, in order to be absolved from the consequences of any idle talk or the like that might have occurred.
