What is the role of a young person in Islam?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Every Muslim has a role in Islam, whether young or old, male or female, rich or poor, for Islam encourages work. Islam has given special attention to youth due to their important role as a tool for production, protectors of the nation, and carriers of knowledge. Islam has been keen to protect youth from afflictions and preserve their religion and loyalty to Allah, commanding them to lower their gaze and guard their private parts, and encouraging them to marry. It also instilled in them a desire for virtues and good morals. For youth to fulfill their role, they must strive to acquire beneficial knowledge and follow it with sincere and pure actions, not faltering in serving their religion and society, and being wary of deviating after currents of strife and whims. The youth who are beneficial to their nation are those who emulate those who seek the countenance of Allah, and whom worldly life does not distract from His remembrance.
